Soundtracks: engaging young people in musical journeys. An exciting new opportunity for any budding music makers to work with great musicians to develop new musical skills and knowledge.
Soundtracks is an new project taking place in different venues across Blackburn with Darwen open to any young people age 12–18 who would like to try a musical activity for the first time or develop new musical skills on their own or with friends.
Try anything that interests you: songwriting, singing, learning instruments, starting a band, learning about music production, beatboxing and rapping. Bring your own instruments or use ours to write new muisc and produce your own tracks.
You can learn from experienced musicians across different musical styles. Get involved, tell us what opportunities you would like and we'll tell you when and where it's happening.
The funding we have received from the National Foundation for Youth Music will enable us to work in partnership with Blackburn Youth Zone and BwD Young People's Service, to support these new, open access music making opportunities in community venues until September 2017. We will also be offering training opportunities for young music leaders.
Sessions will take place at different venues across Blackburn and Darwen in the form of regular weekly slots and short blocks of workshops. We are offering workshops for schools as well so get in touch!
